Longgong LG6060 Excavator: A User’s Experience After Years of Operation
#1
Li Ning, a millennial excavator operator, shares his experience with the Longgong LG6060, which has been his trusted machine since 2008. A family tradition of operating machinery, especially with his father’s background with the Dongfanghong bulldozer, paved the way for Li Ning’s career. After receiving some basic training for a month, Li Ning took it upon himself to explore and master excavator operations and maintenance. Over time, he developed a deep interest in the industry, attending exhibitions and aiming to one day expand his fleet of excavators.
Purchase Details:
Li Ning purchased the Longgong LG6060 excavator in the latter half of 2008 through a financing plan from Longgong’s Henan dealer, Shengshi Xing. He made an initial down payment of 160,000 yuan and has since been paying it off over two years. While the payments are almost complete, Li Ning praises the dealer for being understanding and flexible during slower work periods. “Shengshi Xing is really considerate. When there was little work, they understood and didn’t pressure me for payment,” Li Ning notes.
Work Applications:
Li Ning mainly uses the excavator on construction sites and for agricultural land redevelopment. Tasks such as digging drainage ditches, leveling construction sites, and loading trucks are its primary applications.
Performance Efficiency:
According to Li Ning, the Longgong LG6060 performs decently in day-to-day work, but one downside is its relatively slow operation speed. While the performance is acceptable, the slower pace remains a point of dissatisfaction for him.
Machine Condition and Issues:
Since purchasing the excavator, Li Ning has encountered no major faults, although some minor issues did arise and were quickly addressed:
  1. Engine: The engine has operated without any issues, achieving zero faults.
  2. Hydraulic System: The hydraulic system has been mostly reliable. However, there was one instance of an oil leak from the multi-way valve, which was promptly fixed by the dealer who replaced the Parker hose at no cost. Since then, there have been no issues with the system.
  3. Oil Level Sensor: The oil level sensor failed to display readings at one point. The dealer’s after-sales team quickly replaced it at no charge, and the issue was resolved, leaving the machine running smoothly.
  4. Air Conditioning: The air conditioning did not work well initially, but after the dealer’s team added refrigerant, the cooling function improved, and it has worked fine since.
Fuel Consumption:
Li Ning typically operates the excavator at 1800 RPM, consuming around 28 yuan per hour (approximately 4.5 liters per hour). For smaller tasks, the throttle is set higher, while for fixed-price jobs, a smaller throttle is used. In comparison to similar machines, this fuel consumption is considered average—not particularly fuel-efficient but not excessively high either.
After-Sales Service:
Li Ning is generally satisfied with Longgong’s after-sales service. He can contact the dealer quickly when issues arise, and repairs are handled promptly. With plans to purchase a larger excavator in the future, he mentions that Longgong remains his first choice. He’s confident that the larger excavator will perform just as well as the LG6060.
Suggestions for Improvement:
While Li Ning is largely happy with the service, he does have some suggestions for improvement. He feels that the after-sales service from Longgong’s dealer (Shengshi Xing) is excellent within the warranty period. However, post-warranty service seems less timely, possibly due to staffing shortages at the dealer. He hopes the company can address this issue to maintain strong customer relationships and improve their reputation in the industry.
Conclusion:
As a 6-ton excavator from a domestic brand, Li Ning considers the Longgong LG6060 to be a solid machine. Though it has had some minor issues, the dealer’s responsive after-sales service has ensured these were quickly resolved. Li Ning is generally satisfied with the performance and the after-sales support but suggests that the dealer’s post-warranty service could be more timely to maintain good customer satisfaction. In an industry where word-of-mouth is crucial, ensuring high-quality after-sales service, both during and after the warranty period, is essential for a company’s reputation.
